HLSL is delighted to partner once again with the magnificent Manoir Fraser (32 Rue Fraser, Rivière-du-Loup, QC, G5R 1C2) in Rivière-du-Loup for an afternoon of tea and bilingual conversation. To celebrate the opening of the new permanent exhibition at Manoir Fraser, attendees are invited to a bilingual lecture from Dr John Willis, curator of Economic History at the Canadian Museum of History.Dr Willis’ lecture will commence at 13h at St Bartholomew’s Anglican Church (5 Rue du Domaine, Rivière-du-Loup, QC G5R 2P6) and is titled ‘Gens d’ici, gens errants, gens d’ailleurs: Migrants from Notre-Dame-du-Portage, in the belle époque (1870s-1920s).’ After the lecture, attendees will make their way to the garden* of the Manoir Fraser for tea and refreshments. An optional guided tour of the new exhibition will also be available.
*in the event of bad weather, the afternoon tea will be held indoors.
