This presentation will be held at the Rochester Museum Farm Center, 1005 Van Hoosen Rd, Rochester Hills 48306About the presentation
Before Michigan became a state, settlers arrived inland seeking land suitable for farming. The Taylor family was among these early pioneers, beginning with a log cabin in 1823, replaced by the first version of the present farmhouse, now part of the Rochester Hills Museum. Van Hoosen Farm collects, preserves and shares the story of five generations of the Taylor-Van Hoosen families as well as the history of the greater Rochester and Rochester Hills area, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
