About the Film
Set in a decaying New York City, Taxi Driver follows Travis Bickle, an isolated Vietnam veteran drifting through the night as a cab driver. As his isolation deepens, so does his obsession with cleansing the city of its corruption, leading to a tense and explosive descent into vigilante violence.
Written by Paul Schrader and featuring a young Jodie Foster in a breakout role, the film builds toward one of cinema’s most unforgettable climaxes.
From the neon-soaked streets to the infamous “You talkin’ to me?” monologue, Taxi Driver is a raw and unflinching portrait of a man on the edge—and a city that mirrors his unravelling.
"Taxi Driver is really a bible for film actors, a master class. A lot of emotional power, a lot of emotional depth, but it's contained, and you just see the tip of the iceberg." — Sam Rockwell
