Taxes & Your Paycheck

The Bay Area Financial Education Foundation and the City of Redwood City are bringing three personal finance workshops to Redwood City Public Library for Youth Ages 18-24.

In Taxes & Your Paycheck, Attendees will learn why $20 an hour isn't really $20 an hour. They will explore:

• The reasons behind government taxation and major tax categories relevant to young adults.
• How taxes are deducted from paychecks, including understanding paystubs and taxable income.
• Engaging activities that reinforce their knowledge of tax withholdings and financial responsibility.

This workshop is led by investment professionals who teach personal finance classes for teens and young adults.

This class is intended for youth ages 18-24.

There will be two other workshops: Budgeting 101 (March 3) and Understanding Credit (March 17). You do not need to attend all three.
