"Gnome on the Roam" is coming to Tavares! How it works:
Who doesn't like to shop? I know I do.
Who doesn't like a little extra money to help with after the Holidays?
This Holiday Season our little Tavares "
Gnome" will be making his way around to any businesses that will have him.
In order for our Tavares "Gnome" to visit your store for a particular day, all you have to do is donate a gift basket of your choice to the Tavares Chamber. Once you drop your basket off you will then pick a day out of the month of December for our: "Gnome" to be a visitor at your location.
On the particular day our "Gnome " is with you, any shoppers, or customers that spend money at YOUR location on that specified day will fill out an index card with the following information:
1. Name of Customer
2. Phone Number of Customer
3. Location the customer shopped at
4. A copy of the receipt showing they made a purchase
From there you will drop off the "Gnome" to the chamber either at the end of the day or the next morning, along with any index cards you've collected.
This will go on from December 1st thru December 15th. On December 16th, the chamber will collect all the index cards that were dropped off by each business in one pot and draw one name. We then will set a time with the winner to meet us at the store they shopped at, and we will do a live Facebook Event.
**Dates to have the "Gnome" in your business is on a first come first serve basis** The donated gift baskets must be at the chamber prior to receiving the "Gnome"
**You may choose to have the "Gnome" more than one day during the month of December, but each day you chose to have him, you must bring a basket of goodies of your choice to be donated to the chamber**
On January 3rd, 2025, we will pick a winner from the businesses that participated. The Tavares Chamber will call the winner and set a time for them to meet us at the business, and there we will host a live Facebook Event, and present the winner with a check for $100.00 from the Tavares Chamber.
We will start accepting signups for the December event on Tuesday November 12th, 2025.
You may stop in the chamber:
Monday: 10am-4pm
Tuesday-Friday: 9am-4pm
Saturday: 10am-2pm
(The "Gnome" will not start Roaming until December 1st, 2025)
