Ever wondered what it’s about? Would you like to know more?
“Positive reinforcement produces horses that are confident, happy and motivated to learn and play with you. You will experience increased motivation, enjoyment and connection with your horse!”
You will learn through discussion, individual coaching with your horse, simulation games and exercises, and observing others with their horses. Clinics are small, safe, supportive, and inspiring.
Day 1 - Sunday 13th June:
Bex will teach you how to use food rewards correctly - as reinforcement to inspire behaviour change, not as a bribe, a crutch or a band-aid. Is your horse a cookie monster? Never fear! Learn how to explain the rules around food so they can relax and focus.
Introduction to positive reinforcement, horse psychology and how horses learn; preventing and resolving food anxiety; useful and safe foundations on the ground. Build connection and trust with your horse while establishing confidence and clarity for both of you.
After Day 1 we have a two week gap during which you can practice what you've learned, ask questions and discuss on a group Zoom call. Then we get together again two weeks later:
Day 2 - Sunday 28th June:
Advance the practical application of reward-based training on the ground and in the saddle. Content will be tailored to the humans and horses in attendance, so bring your requests and questions! We usually cover aspects of groundwork, liberty, riding, problem solving (e.g. bridling, hoof care, worming and needles).
