Taunton Town Tours: Civil War and Religion

Take a tour of Taunton looking at the history of civil war and religion.
Beginning at the Museum of Somerset this tour, led by our knowledgeable volunteers, will be concentrating on the first English Civil War which began in 1642 and will explore the role of Taunton Castle, the town and Somerset during the conflict.
Secondly, we will examine the role of religion in the conflict and visit some of the wide variety of churches and chapels in Taunton, exploring how the history of some of them are interwoven within this war.
