LdM Gallery presents CARE for me! Herbarium the first chapter of a broader immersive art project by Tatiana Stadnichenko dedicated to the exploration of the different ways of expressing care through the empathic energy of images.
The concept of caring/taking care has been present in Tatiana Stadnichenko’s works for several years and it originates from her deep desire of “alleviating the pain” of the body and the soul. This desire is on the one hand personal and intimate while on the other hand it has a collective and global nature: related to the world today profoundly wounded by violence and indifference.
Taking care (of someone or of oneself) is the greatest and most complex act of love that each of us can perform on a daily basis. It is also a cathartic moment that encourages a subtler and empathic communication. It is possible to express care in a myriad of ways: for this exhibition the artist resorts to plants and medical herbs for their ancient thaumaturgic power.
In traditional medical practices the herbs get in contact with the human body where they express their curative essence. With this artwork Tatiana Stadnichenko proposes a metaphor of the same process: she gives the herbs to visitors through the images visitors are in fact invited to interact with the artworks communicate with them using all senses and interior channels. It is precisely this interaction that produces the “experience of care” designed for the soul.
CARE for me! Herbarium consists of two main art works both featuring plants and medical herbs:(1) a selection of prints and (2) a video installation.
(1) With the prints realized through the technique of gel printing Tatiana Stadnichenko wishes to capture the energetic entity of each plant fixing it on paper. This procedure has first of all a symbolic value for the artist: as it is the way for her to keep a sort of earthly connection with her motherland. At the same time it’s precisely the plant’s “spirit” fixed on paper that is the active ingredient of the art project the one that transmits the act of care to the visitors.
(2) In the second part of the exhibition there are a series of silk prints and a video installation: the video is projected on a white cloth where the images flow downwards following the rhythm of a contemplative sound. Through the images and the sound visitors broaden their perception and therefore the reception of the act of care itself.
Protagonist of this part of the exhibition is the fern - present on the silk prints and printed on the installation’s cloth. Tatiana Stadnichenko has chosen to work with this prehistoric plant because it is known for its purifying power (by efficiently filtering the air in our interiors from pollution and fine dust). Moreover in its many variations fern since ancient times is a subject for myths and legends symbolizing mystery and infinite knowledge. Associated with the celebration of Saint John's Eve in many European cultures fern has often a transcendental meaning: it is believed to offer protection and connection to the Divine to promote intuition to harmonize and balance energetic fields to symbolize spiritual growth and rebirth. Most likely fern was the first piece of flora to which men and women directed their request “CARE for me!”
TATIANA STADNICHENKO
Born in 1985 in Siberia (Russia) and resident in Italy she graduated in painting and printmaking from Omsk State Pedagogical University and then obtained an MFA in digital art and installation from the Bergen National Academy of Art in Norway.
Her artistic research focuses on the reflection and representation of the landscape as a memory of life expressed through images that undergo physical and conceptual changes.
The artist works with this theme in various media combining different techniques graphics prints and video installations - in which she specialises. Indeed among her major works are video installations in which she is using large-scale drawings prints sculptures and audio-visual projections to shape a multimedia and immersive dimension that can be defined as the maximum expression of his art.
Tatiana Stadnichenko has exhibited in Italy France Greece Sweden Norway Switzerland Finland Canada the United States and Russia.

LdM Gallery presenta CARE for me! Herbarium il primo capitolo del progetto artistico immersivo di Tatiana Stadnichenko dedicato all'esplorazione dei diversi modi di esprimere la cura attraverso l'energia empatica delle immagini.
Il concetto di prendersi cura/curare è presente nelle opere di Tatiana Stadnichenko da diversi anni e trae origine dal suo profondo desiderio di “alleviare il dolore” del corpo e dell’anima. Questo desiderio è da un lato personale e intimo mentre dall'altro ha carattere collettivo e globale: legato al mondo di oggi profondamente ferito dalla violenza e dall'indifferenza.
Prendersi cura (di qualcuno o di sé stessi) è l’atto d’amore più grande e complesso che ognuno di noi può compiere quotidianamente. È anche un momento catartico che incoraggia una comunicazione più sottile ed empatica. È possibile esprimere la cura in una miriade di modi: per questa mostra l'artista ricorre a piante ed erbe medicinali raccolte nella sua terra d’origine Siberia e nella terra d’adozione Toscana per il loro antico potere taumaturgico.
Nelle pratiche mediche tradizionali le erbe entrano in contatto con il corpo umano dove esprimono la loro essenza curativa. Con quest'opera Tatiana Stadnichenko propone una metafora dello stesso processo: dona le erbe ai visitatori attraverso le immagini i visitatori sono infatti invitati a interagire con le opere comunicare con loro utilizzando tutti i sensi e i canali interiori. È proprio questa interazione che produce “l'esperienza di cura” pensata per l'anima.
CURAmi! Herbarium è composto da due opere d'arte principali entrambe raffiguranti piante ed erbe medicinali: (1) una selezione di stampe e (2) un'installazione video.
(1) Con le stampe realizzate attraverso la tecnica di gel print Tatiana desidera catturare l'entità energetica di ogni pianta fissandola su carta. Questo procedimento ha innanzitutto un valore simbolico per l'artista: poiché è il modo per lei di mantenere una sorta di legame terreno con la sua terra natale. Allo stesso tempo è proprio lo “spirito” della pianta fissato sulla carta l’ingrediente attivo del progetto artistico quello che trasmette ai visitatori l’atto di cura.
(2) Nella seconda parte della mostra sono presenti una serie di stampe su seta e una videoinstallazione: il video è proiettato su un telo bianco dove le immagini scorrono verso il basso seguendo il ritmo di un suono contemplativo. Attraverso le immagini e il suono i visitatori ampliano la loro percezione e quindi la ricezione dell'atto stesso della cura.
Protagonista di questa parte della mostra è la felce presente nelle serigrafie e stampata sui tessuti dell’installazione. Tatiana Stadnichenko ha scelto di lavorare con questa pianta preistorica perché è nota per il suo potere purificatore (filtrando efficacemente l'aria dei nostri interni dall'inquinamento e dalle polveri sottili). Inoltre nelle sue molteplici varianti la felce fin dall'antichità è oggetto di miti e leggende simboleggiano il mistero e la conoscenza infinita. Associata alla celebrazione della vigilia di San Giovanni in molte culture europee la felce ha spesso un significato trascendentale: si ritiene che offra protezione e connessione con il Divino favorisca l'intuizione armonizzi ed equilibri i campi energetici simboleggi la crescita spirituale e la rinascita. Molto probabilmente la felce è stata il primo pezzo di flora a cui uomini e donne hanno rivolto la loro richiesta “CURA di me!”
Tatiana Stadnichenko
nata in 1985 in Siberia (Russia) e residente in Italia si è laureata in pittura e incisione alla Omsk State Pedagogical University e ha poi ottenuto un MFA in arte digitale e installazione presso la Bergen National Academy of Art in Norvegia.
La sua ricerca artistica si focalizza sulla riflessione e rappresentazione del paesaggio quale memoria di vita espressa attraverso immagini che subiscono cambiamenti fisici e concettuali.
L’artista affronta questa tematica con vari media coniugando soprattutto grafica arte materica e videoarte - in cui si specializza. Tra le sue opere maggiori sono infatti video installazioni in cui disegni su larga scala stampe sculture e proiezioni audiovisive plasmano una dimensione multimediale e immersiva che può definirsi massima espressione della sua arte.
