worked in Indian health programs since 1987, integrating
Indigenous plant medicine and cultural practices with
Western clinical care. She is a Clinical Professor in the
UW School of Medicine’s Department of Family Medicine
and a faculty member with the Center for Indigenous
Health. She has led resident education at Seattle Indian Health
Board and Puyallup Tribal Health Authority, developed
Indigenous health curricula, and taught plant medicine
nationally and internationally. Her ongoing volunteer work
supports tribal land restoration, food sovereignty, and
seed saving.
