History is often written by the best publicists on the winning team and in this case that happens to be men. Discover the hidden stories of some of the amazing female cryptographers who brought about the ends of both world wars and brought down smuggling rings and mobsters. Dive into the secret world of some of the women that founded the CIA. These women helped to change the course of history but because of the top-secret nature of their work, they had to keep silent about what they were doing, with the credit often going to the men around them. Today we will shine a light on some of their many accomplishments.

Taste of ISM celebrates the work and passion of the team of the Illinois State Museum. You’re invited to join us or a lunch and learn style program where you’ll hear stories about art, history, science, and the magical world of museums. You are welcome to bring your lunch to eat during the program, but lunch is not provided.

This program will take place in-person at the ISM Research and Collection Center at 1011 E. Ash Street, Springfield. This event will be streamed over Zoom at https://bit.ly/TasteISMMarch25.
