Taste of Intuitive WeavingSaturday, April 18, 2026
11:00 AM 4:00 PM
Join us for this intuitive approach to weaving with no special threading, treadling or pattern to follow. Make it up as you go. Simple plain weave, focusing on color, texture and random patterns. The first day we will warp the looms. The next day we’ll weave a scarf using different techniques: inlay, clasp weft, loops, wandering lines, etc. Many types of yarn will be available to create texture: novelty, bulky, handspun. Feel free to bring your own yarns, too. Location: large classroom at the end of the hall past our 2nd floor Oatland studio. You may take your loom home for one month without rental charges.
We have two options: Start the class on Saturday and have a chance to warp a table loom for your project, OR join the class on Sunday and bring your own warped table loom, details below
If you want to provide your own warp yarn, get 8/2, 8/4 or 5/2 cotton on a cone. Bring any other yarns you’d like to use, or use yarn from the guild’s stash. I’ll bring a box of yarn and sari silk scraps to use in the weft.
Some basic weaving experience is ideal.
Material fee: $25
Sunday only OPTION:
Bring your own pre-warped loom, 5” wide, 90-110” long(includes fringe and waste).
Sunday, April 19th only, 10-4
Material Fee: $10
Limit: 4
