Calling all foodies. Did you hear the good news?
The Taste of Africa is coming to 4C, the beautiful headquarters of The Royal Oak Initiative!! On Friday, May 29th, from 6 pm-9 pm, we
are curating an experience in the heart of Olde Towne East. During this time, our event will feature a
culinary extravaganza where attendees can purchase samples of an array
of authentic African dishes, ranging from savory stews to exotic spices
and traditional desserts. Local chefs and culinary enthusiasts bring their
expertise to create an enticing menu. Indulge in a
variety of dishes that will tantalize your taste buds and transport you
to the vibrant streets of Africa via Parsons Ave. But it doesn't stop there, guests will also have the ability to sip and savor the moment at Upper Cup Coffee
across the street, whose origin story began in the heart of East Africa, Eritrea. Enjoy extended hours with tea, coffee, and beautiful art adorning the cafe walls.
We'll have a live DJ, so our guests can also groove to the rhythms of Afrobeat, highlife, makossa,
and other genres while experiencing the vibrant energy of the motherland.
Beyond the food and entertainment, the event provides opportunities for
cultural exchange and learning. In collaboration with the City of Columbus, we hope to continue the Africa Day celebrations by showcasing diversity, unity, and the spirit of preservation through food culture.
