About this Event
Soil is our foundation - literally.
Protecting it is vital to all living creatures. If we want to get delicious, nutritious food from the soil, we need to give back to it - to take care of what is already there and to build more healthy soil. Reducing tillage reduces disturbance of the soil, keeping it healthier, reducing erosion, and enabling soil to hold and absorb rainfall.
Join Anu Rangarajan of Cornell Small Farms Program, and Lorrie Clevenger and Michaela Hayes-Hodge of Rise & Root Farm, to talk about how using tarping can help you to suppress weeds and lower tillage to create healthier soil and more productive crops
We will get hands on with silage tarps to prepare ground at NuLegacy's People's Land for planting.
