Join Bruce and Margaret Jefferies for an illustrated journey through the mountains and landscapes that have shaped their lives and work. From early tramping days with the WTMC in the Tararuas and the Southern Alps, years as a National Park Ranger and on to Nepal in 1977 to help establish Sagarmatha (Mt Everest) National Park, this talk traces more than four decades of adventure, conservation, and an enduring connection with Nepal and the Khumbu region. It is a story of people, place, and the lessons learned from a career in global conservation — grounded in experience across New Zealand’s national parks, the Pacific (especially Papua New Guinea), and South and East Asia, including Nepal, Bhutan, the Philippines, Lao PDR, Malaysia (Sarawak), Thailand, and China (Yunnan and Hubei), as well as Timor-Leste.Doors open 6.30pm, for a 7.15pm start.
