About this Event
Kick off your Asian Heritage Month 2026 with an incredible showcase on Indian classical music and dance with TARANG, an evening of Hindustani music and Kathak, all performed live at Calgary's home for music and art.
Featuring sarangi maestro, Pankaj Mishra, and tabla exponent and prized disciple of the legendary Pt. Kishan Maharaj, Vineet Vyas, the evening will begin with a presentation of traditional ragas with an instrument that can mimic the sweetest gayaki. Following the music, a Kathak showcase by Bageshree Vaze, trained under the legend Pt. Birju Maharaj, who will grace the stage accompanied by live music from vocalist Kavita Mishra, the sarangi, and tabla.
We're thrilled to partner with Studio Bell | National Music Centre to bring Indian classical art again into one of Calgary's most prestigious venues on such a festive ocassion.
