Tapology's Matters of the He(A)rt: Rhythm, Reverence, and Revelation explores the deep connection between tap dance and the transformative power of art. This theme emphasizes how the rhythmic movements of tap dance serve as a spiritual language, fostering a profound reverence for the art form and a sacred conversation between the dancer and the creator. Engaging with tap dance becomes a spiritual journey, encouraging self-discovery, emotional healing, and a respectful devotion to tradition. It highlights how art can act as a divine channel, connecting the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the human experience.
It features an electrifying collaboration of tap dancers and musicians. Matters of the He(A)rt: Rhythm, Reverence, and Revelation Concert will include special tributes to the 2026 Tapology Living Legend #AlfredBruceBradley. Attendees can look forward to live performances by Tapology’s beloved Alumni, Tapology Youth Ensemble, the Detroit School of Arts, and some of tap’s most acclaimed artists, performers, and educators, including Tapology’s Acting CEO Frances Bradley and Associate Artistic Director Kandee Hogan.
Other notable contributing artists include Brinae Ali, #SarahSavelli Maurice Chestnut, #LonnieMcFadden, #ParrisMan, #QuynnJohnson, #JasonJanas, #ImaniTaylor, and #MonessaSalley.
Musical performances will feature African drumming by Baba Kevin Collins, Tapology Music Director #LukeCarlosOReilly, vocalist #CherisseBradley, beatboxer #KarimManning, and award-winning band members: drummer #GayelynnMcKinney, saxophonist #AlexColista, bassist #LauraSimone, and guitarist #ReichlinSmall.
