About this Event
Do you want to stop smoking or vaping for good?
Tap the Habit is a small, in-person workshop for people who want to stop smoking or vaping and are looking for an approach that goes beyond willpower alone.
Limited to a maximum of 9 participants, this workshop combines Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT / tapping) with SMART Recovery tools to help you understand your habits, manage cravings, and build motivation and confidence in your ability to change.
The workshop is split over two Sunday mornings; Sunday 8th March and Sunday 29th March from 9:30am to 12:30pm on each day. The ticket price is for both sessions combined, please ensure you can attend both before booking.
Session One (Sunday 8th March) helps you to:
• Get absolutely clear on your personal motivations to stop.
• Learn tapping techniques to lessen cravings.
• Address your unhelpful self-talk and doubts about your ability to quit.
Session Two (Sunday 29th March) focuses on:
• What you’ve noticed since session one and what challenges have come up for you.
• Strengthening what’s already working and finding alternatives for what isn’t.
• Creating a clear plan to continue confidently as a ex-smoker or ex-vaper.
This is a supportive, practical space to learn tools you can use in real life, at your own pace, without judgement, and with no requirement to stop on the day.
This workshop is suitable if you:
• Have tried to stop before, maybe numerous times, but found it too difficult.
• Know that your smoking or vaping habit is linked to stress, emotions, and routine.
• Want practical skills and support rather than attempting to stop in the same way which hasn’t stuck before.
This workshop is not suitable for you if:
• You’re looking for a quick fix or a one-off session that guarantees you’ll stop immediately.
• You prefer a lecture-style programme rather than an interactive workshop which teaches practical skills.
• You’re not open to exploring your emotions and beliefs as a powerful way to change your habits.
• You’re seeking medical advice or require clinical treatment.
This workshop is best suited to people who are curious, willing to try practical tools, and open to learning a different way to approach stopping smoking or vaping.
About the Host
This workshop is facilitated by Emma Sharp-Lau, Behaviour Change Specialist and advanced EFT Practitioner and SMART Recovery Facilitator with over 12 years’ experience of supporting people to make sustainable changes around unwanted patterns of behaviour and addictions.
Emma’s approach is practical, compassionate, and non-judgemental, and is founded firmly in the belief that change happens when people feel supported and empowered with tools they can use in everyday life.
Emma is an ex-smoker herself, having stopped for good 11 years ago following previous failed attempts. She knows what finally worked for her and is passionate about helping others to find a better solution than struggling with willpower alone.
