Without healthy pleasure you slowly stagnate, get sick, wither and die. Feeling pleasure within you is necessary because it releases stagnation and brings health on many levels.
Partners and intimacy are not required to feel this, it's entirely yours. Once you are connected to it, you can expand and explode with it during intimacy, the same as when you eat, dance, sing, talk etc
