Tangoesque has built a strong following by offering a more open, relaxed alternative to traditional tango dances. The music focuses on Alternative and Nuevo tango, and the dancing is tango-inspired—guided by how the music moves you. It’s a space where experienced tango dancers can break out of familiar patterns, newer dancers can explore tango in a no-pressure environment, and fusion dancers who love the tango vibe always feel welcome.Tangoesque now happens twice a month:
1st Fridays at 8:00 pm and 3rd Sundays at 7:00 pm.
Both evenings follow the same format and begin with a 30-minute fun, light-hearted Rueda-style class taught by Michelle Badion—a great way to warm up, meet other dancers, and learn a cool new move.
There is no tanda requirement. Songs are often grouped in pairs, with natural breaks for partner changes. You’re welcome to dance one song or many—it’s entirely your choice.
Cost: $20 (sliding scale available on request)
Payment: Cash or Venmo at the door
Includes: Lesson, snacks, and wine bar
Flow of the Evening (Sunday):
• 5:45 pm – Doors open
• 7:00 pm – Class begins (please arrive on time)
• 7:30 pm – Dancing begins
• 10:00 pm – Dance ends (extension at DJ’s discretion)
