Tangoesque has enjoyed a great following by offering a more open format than traditional tango dances. The music is Alternative and Nuevo and the dancing is largely tango danced however the music moves you. It's both an opportunity for experienced tango dancers to 'break out' a bit and for dancers newer to tango to have a 'no-pressure' environment in which to dance. Fusion dancers who enjoy the tango vibe are always welcome too!We will now, essentially, be offering Tangoesque twice a month -- 1st Fridays and 3rd Sundays. The format is the same but start time is different. Fridays 8pm and Sundays 7pm. Each starts with a 30 minute fun, light-hearted, Rueda style class taught by Michelle Badion. This is a wonderful way to warm up, meet other dancers and learn a 'cool-move'.
As with our 1st Friday dance, there is no Tanda requirement to dance 3 or 4 songs in a row. Songs are often grouped in twos and threes with a very short break between dances for a partner change. It is perfectly acceptable to dance several dances in a row or just one - your choice!
