Like taming a tiger, mastering your mind brings strength, peace, and clarity to your life. 🐯
Train Your Mind Through Meditation. In this context, “taming the tiger” metaphorically refers to gaining control over one’s inner struggles, emotions, and thoughts, much like taming a powerful and potentially dangerous animal. Our mind has the power to make us happy or unhappy, patient or angry, uplifted or depressed; if we learn to skilfully tame it in meditation we have the power and mental freedom to direct our life towards peace, happiness, and content. This course will provide inspiration, guidance and encourage to the tame the tiger within!
6.30-7.30pm including introduction, first guided meditation, teaching, second guided meditation, short paired discussion and Q&A.
Week 1: Introduction to Taming the Tiger - Meditation & the untamed mind
Week 2: Understanding the Tiger’s Nature – Triggers of impatience & stress
Week 3: Steadying the Mind’s Fire – Relax the body & steady the mind
Week 4: Facing Fear & Resistance – Transform resistance into patience
Week 5: Building Inner Strength – Patience as an antidote to frustration
Week 6: Guiding the Tiger with Wisdom – Turn anxiety into compassion
Week 7: The Peaceful Tiger – Experience the benefits of mental peace
Week 8: Taming the Tiger – Integrate calm and resilience into life
Suitable for all levels and designed for anyone interested in building or refreshing a meditation practice, each class offers a supportive and structured space to explore mindful meditation, develop emotional resilience, and cultivate inner calm.
The tiger symbolises the untamed mind—full of energy, potential, and power, yet often wild and unsteady.
This eight-week mindful meditation course, Taming the Tiger, is designed to help you channel that energy into a calm and focused state of being.
Through mindfulness practices, reflection, and meditative techniques, you’ll learn to master your thoughts, emotions, and habits, unlocking a deeper sense of peace and clarity.
