ABOUT GARETH
Gareth has been a musician for over 30 years and began playing samba with the London School of Samba in 2006. Since then, he has performed across Europe and in Rio de Janeiro, studying with some of the world’s most respected samba musicians.
Since moving to Stockholm in 2015, Gareth has been a central figure in the Swedish samba scene. He has served as the Musical Director for the Swedish Encontro and held the role of Tam Director for Maravilha do Samba and São Miguel.
Beyond live performances and teaching, Gareth has created samba backing tracks that are used for practice and performance by elite samba dancers globally. Through his Instagram and YouTube channels, he continues to develop and share his own Rio-style tamborim rhythms and techniques.
