Every year, talented tamariki from several kura from the Hutt Valley and Wellington perform at Te Papa, exhibiting their pride for their culture and language.Five primary schools – Fernlea, Wainuiomata, Kelson, Korokoro, and Kōnini – and three kindergartens – Tai Tamariki, Katoa, and Toru Fetū – will be on stage to show their skills with performance, colour, and music – kids' size.
This year’s Tamariki Kapa Haka is dedicated to Bridgett Reid, one of the kaiako of Tai Tamariki Kindergarten, who recently passed away.
Entry to this event is FREE with museum entry. Entry to Te Papa is free for all New Zealanders and people living in Aotearoa New Zealand.
