The Illawarra Lowlands Grassy Woodland is a Critically Endangered Ecological Community and one of the rapidly declining peri-urban woodlands in the Illawarra-Shoalhaven region.
In the Illawarra, remnants of this unique woodland can be found at Croome Reserve, Blackbutt Nature Reserve, Wiseman Park, and Stream Hill, as well as in small pockets on private land along the edge of the escarpment.
Join Lucy Loft and Beth Mott from the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) for an engaging exploration of Illawarra Lowlands Grassy Woodland. Discover what we can all do to help preserve this vital ecological community. The team will introduce their new project, Guardians of the Grassy Woodlands, which aims to increase community awareness and foster intergenerational guardianship of this special ecosystem.
