Dear friends!
We are happy to invite you to Decolonizing Science: Decolonial methodologies and revitalization from Indigenous and Intercultural research institutions in Colombia and Bolivia.

In this informal conversation we meet the Quechua linguistic researcher Delicia Escalera Salazar con the Bolivian research institute Funproeib Andes who has worked with topics as revitalization, historical memory and education rights together with Uru communities; and Indigenous people heavily affected by climate change.

We also meet Jarvi Leo Ulchur Calambás, a Totoroe researcher at the Autonomous Intercultural Indigenous University (UAIIN) in Cauca, Colombia. The university was created and run by the Regional Indigenous Council of Cauca (CRIC), an organization in Colombia that represents and advocates for the rights and interests of the indigenous communities of 11 different Indigenous Peoples in the Cauca region. Jarvi is part of the CRISSAC (Nurturing and Sowing Wisdom and Knowledge) process in UAIIN.

We learn from their efforts to transcend conventional research through decolonial methodologies, and building up autonomous research institutions, that focus on Indigenous oral traditions, culture, redefining concepts such as epistemology.

The event is co-organized by SAIH and LAG in collaboration with Anarres. The event is free and open to the public, and some refreshments will be provided for. It is held in Spanish and translated into English or Norwegian language, depending on the group present.
Hope to see you there!
