Tales on the Rails is rolling into spring at the National Railroad Museum, and itโ€™s a storytime adventure designed just for kids and their families! Young explorers will โ€œtravelโ€ to different locations across the Museum grounds, stopping along the way to enjoy live, in-person story readings surrounded by historic trains. Each stop brings a new tale, a new experience, and a stamp in their very own passport as they move through this imaginative, literacy-focused journey. Tickets also include free crafts, live childrenโ€™s entertainment, games, a ride on a vintage train, and many more activities throughout the day! Grab your tickets early and get ready to read, ride, and explore!
At the end of the route, kids who complete their passport will be rewarded for their travels, making the day both interactive and memorable. Tales on the Rails blends books, trains, and hands-on fun into a joyful celebration of reading and curiosity, perfect for welcoming the season.
Ticket Options:
Two ticket options are available: Standard ($22) and Premium ($30). All attendees age 2 and older must purchase a ticket when choosing Standard tickets. Due to safety considerations and limited seating, no lap seating is permitted for Premium ticket train rides. For Premium, everyone, regardless of age, needs a ticket.
Due to the historical nature of the train cars used for the train ride, we may have limited or no wheelchair accessibility for the train ride portion of the event. If you or a member of your group needs special arrangements for handicapped accessibility, we encourage you to give us a call ahead of time to ensure we are able to accommodate you.
