A trans centered comedy storytelling showcase of new faces in local the community!!!About this Event
Tales of Gender Affirmation is just shy off our 5th anniversary of bringing joy through comedy and storytelling about trans, queer and ally lives right here in this city!!! We have a special new faces showcase to highlight all the new emerging talented artists in our community rising and shining!!! The showcase will take place at the cozy Café Eevee on 1251 St Zotique Est on Saturday May 30th at 8pm!!! Just pay what you can as a basket is passed around at the end of the show. Tickets are free to reserve in advance.

Hilarious local comedians perform stand up & storytelling comedy routines about living their life out as their true gender identity! Funny stories told at the shows include dealing with dating, sex, jobs, clothes shopping for the right clothing, family, and doctors visits! Things we all relate to.Trans and gender diverse people just take an extra step to live as themselves like everybody else. We're all searching for happiness in life and to be ourselves! At the end of the day these funny stories and jokes about gender identity from gender diverse people surprise audiences, because they are so relatable in shared experiences.

Accessibility info:The bathroom is single gender neutral restroom room on the main floor.There a few (3-4) upward outdoor steps from the side walk with no gaps and a door to enter. The venue isn’t wheelchair accessible unfortunately.
Territorial acknowledgement:The event takes place on the land Kanien’kehá:ka. and Tiotia:ke.The meeting place for other Indigenous nations,including the omàmiwininì or Algonquin people. As a live event on this land we feel it’s important we are aware of the land, the custodians of the land, the history and traditions of the people who are the protectors of this land we reside on. It’s important to be aware of the history of colonialism and its consequences in order to not repeat them.
