FAQs
I missed the deadline to register! Can I still attend?

Tickets to MileHiCon, including Avistrum, are available at the door. So long as we have capacity, you will be able to still join us!

Is this show really all weekend? Do we stay overnight?

The show does have hours.

Friday night is commonly from 7:30pm-10:00pm. Saturday and Sunday, doors open at 10:00am, classes and scenes (with scheduled breaks and lunch in between) through 5:00pm. (Exact times are TBD will be announced closer to the event.)

After doors close, you are left to your own devices as to your lodgings for the evening. Many do stay at the hotel along with other convention goers, but there is no obligation - many also go home for the evening! MileHiCon commonly offers a discounted rate for the hotel for that weekend. Please visit www.milehicon.org for more hotel information. Saturday evening does also include the Dark Wizards Ball. This optional event generally runs from 9:00pm - Midnight.

How can I "catch up" on the story?

Our show is a continuing story. We have some story recaps on our website at avistrum.org. We also have some audio dramas through our podcast channel. We are available on all popular podcast platforms (search for "Avistrum"), or at PodBean.

Is the Dark Wizard's Ball "in character?"

No, this is for pure fun. There is no storyline that occurs during the Ball. Often the cast wears strikingly different costumes to help with the separation, such as Starfleet uniforms or Batman characters.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

We adhere to the MileHiCon child policy. As part of that policy, any attendee 11 or younger must have a parent or guardian with them at all times. We are not licensed or equipped for child care. As we recognize that ticket prices can be steep, especially for families, we do offer Chaperone passes for $15 for the weekend. (Chaperone passes include admission to Avistrum events, but not the rest of MileHiCon.)

Guests between the ages of 12 and 17 need to have a parent or guardian present and reachable via cell phone on the premises of the hotel while their children are attending. This includes the Dark Wizards' Ball. You are still able to purchase a Chaperone pass if you would like to attend Avistrum with your teenager.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, we have a check-in list for our attendees.

Is it OK if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

No problem! We realize that many of our attendees have their parents, guardians, or friends purchase their ticket. If you have any changes from the names you provided at registration, please contact MileHiCon registration.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Our show runs concurrently with MileHiCon. Parking is available at the hotel and surrounding areas. Please be aware, even if you are staying at the hotel, parking may be an additional charge. There is RTD Light Rail to the nearby Belleview Station on the E and R lines.

Do I have to wear wizarding robes/be in costume/bring a wand/etc?

It is not required to be in costume of any sort. Many patrons choose to wear costumes or cosplay for our show, as it helps them feel more immersed. However, we also have plenty who wear jeans and a t-shirt. There is no obligation. We do suggest you keep comfort in mind, and please remember it is a family show when choosing your outfits.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Please reach out to our team via [email protected].
