You’ve probably explored your backyard before—but have you ever imagined the tiny magical world hidden just beneath the leaves and flowers? Join us at Meadowbrook Nature Preserve for a cozy story time and nature adventure as we read Backyard Fairies by Phoebe Wahl. After the story, we’ll head outside to gently explore the natural world, imagining where fairies might live and what they might need to thrive. Then, we’ll create our own fairy homes and nature-inspired crafts using found materials, celebrating creativity, curiosity, and the magic of the outdoors. ✨Please come prepared to be outdoors for the entire program. A jacket, boots, and a water bottle are recommended.
Tales & Trails invites children and their caregivers to gather for a short story that sparks curiosity, followed by an exploration of one of our beautiful conservation destinations. Expect to hear a tale and hike a trail while discovering the natural wonders around you together.
This is a 1.5-hour program designed for children ages 3-5. Younger siblings are welcome to join.
