Join us for a gentle and engaging story time as we read A Seed Is Sleepy by Dianna Hutts Aston and Sylvia Long. This beautifully illustrated book will invite participants to explore the secret lives of seeds. We will learn how they rest, sprout, travel, and grow into the plants we see all around us.After the read-aloud, participants will take part in simple, hands-on activities that help bring the story to life. We’ll explore the trail, look for seeds, and make observations about their qualities. We might even make a craft from seeds!
Tales & Trails invites children and their caregivers to gather for a short story that sparks curiosity, followed by an exploration of one of our beautiful conservation destinations. Expect to hear a tale and hike a trail together while discovering the natural wonders around us.
This is a 1.5-hour program designed for children ages 3-5, but younger siblings are invited to join as well.
What to Bring: Weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy footwear, water, and curiosity.
Please note that our restrooms are closed for the season.
