Originally from Tokyo, Japan, Takuya Nakamura moved to the United States in 1990 to study under the legendary jazz theorist and composer George Russell at the New England Conservatory of Music. In 94' Nakamura moved to New York City, where he quickly became a staple in the vibrant Jazz and Jungle scene.
