About this Event

Lisa Vanstone is the owner and managing director of One Voice Media, a 10-strong PR and marketing consultancy, currently celebrating its 35 year anniversary.

Lisa will share her story from employee to entrepreneur, culminating in a transformative management buyout. Lisa will reflect on the challenges of stepping into ownership, and the lessons learned along the way.

This session offers a straightforward look at the challenges and rewards of leadership, highlighting the importance of adaptability, relationship-building, collaboration, employee well-being and community involvement.

About the Speaker:

Lisa Vanstone is a business leader with 25 years’ experience in PR, marketing, and communications. Starting at Westpoint Arena, Lisa developed expertise in event management, handling everything from craft shows to international concerts. In 2008, Lisa joined One Voice Media, becoming Managing Director after a management buyout in 2021. She leads a team of ten, serving clients across tourism, leisure, retail, and business, and has helped retain long-term clients while expanding digital services.

Lisa’s leadership focuses on people and relationships, with employee well-being and client collaboration at the heart. Beyond One Voice Media, Lisa is a Trustee of CoLab Exeter, supporting the charity to develop the Liberty Centre, a much-needed women’s centre for Exeter. She recently completed an MBA and a Senior Leader Apprenticeship at the University of Exeter.
