About this Event
This practical session makes explicit the links between the Scottish Primary Science curriculum and Global Citizenship. Through exploration of resources, methodologies and planning tools, Primary teachers will be equipped to embed Global Citizenship in their teaching of Science.
In this session, teachers will:
· identify links between science, global citizenship and the Scottish primary science curriculum
· look at participatory methods for taking global citizenship into the science lesson
· explore ways to plan primary science topics with a global citizenship approach
· understand what is meant by citizen science and how this relates to Global Citizenship
Our courses are highly interactive, both to model the participatory global citizenship approach, and also so we can introduce activities and methodologies for use in the classroom. This course will make use of breakout rooms and simple digital participation tools (all necessary instructions will be given). It can be hard to participate fully on a phone or tablet, so we highly recommend you join the course on a desktop or laptop computer, with your microphone and video enabled.
If you have particular access needs, please contact us at [email protected] so we can work together to create as positive an experience for you as we can.
We have designed this course to be engaging, relevant and thought-provoking. Please join the course in a reasonably quiet place if possible, and do what you can to bring your full participation and focus to the session.
