About this Event
Takeda are from Norwich, UK. Drawing influence in equal measure from British folk revivalists Fairport Convention and alt-metal icons Tool. Fusing the melodic and emotional sensibility of folk with the noise and fuzzed guitar tones of grunge, Takeda are making music that sounds something like if Nick Drake joined Pile. Their live shows and recordings span genres and fluidly cross boundaries.
Takeda was formed in the Spring of 2022 by Josh Harrison, a guitarist and singer with a catalog of songs mostly about growing up in and eventually escaping a cult. Tired of singing these songs by himself and leaving the latent explosive energy of them trapped in his imagination, he recruited Charlie Wilson on drums and David Woodgett on Bass.
Together they turned those songs into something way bigger than the sum of their parts. With a heavy sound, passionate vocals, the loudest acoustic guitar on Earth and an intense immersive live performance - Takeda are a band to keep sight of in 2025.
They are pioneering a unique blend of genres and have a diverse and genuinely new sound both live and on record.
Takeda have so far released their singles Pulling Teeth, California and Last Man Alive and are currently finishing their album which is set for release in April 2025 on Drongo Records.
