Local Laneway Comes Alive with Community Photo ExhibitionTake 5 Laneway Exhibition Party — A hidden laneway in Perth will be transformed into an open-air gallery in February, as Northbridge Common invites the community to experience an evening of photography, community, and connection.
In 2025, Northbridge Common Town Team sent 25 disposable film cameras out into the community with an invitation to take 5 photographs before leaving the camera for the next person. The result is a slice of life in Northbridge, Perth, Highgate and North Perth, as varied as the people and places that make up our community.
Northbridge Common have curated a selection of these images and will present them in the laneway just off Brisbane Street, between much loved Northbridge venues Bar Love and Peasants Paradice. Set in an intimate laneway setting, the event aims to celebrate creativity while activating an underused public space.
Guests are invited to wander through the exhibition from 5-8pm. Food will be provided from neighbouring business Peasants Paradice, while drinks from Bar Love’s pop up bar will be available for purchase throughout the evening. The event is designed to be relaxed and welcoming, encouraging locals to gather, explore, and engage with the artwork and each other.
Our local community is unique and full of spirit. As proud Northbridge residents, we wanted to showcase the diversity of our surrounding streets, and shine a light on those little pockets of beauty that we walk past every day. This exhibition offers an opportunity to view our neighbourhood through the eyes of another, and appreciate the things that bring us together as a community - Alice, Northbridge Common Volunteer
The exhibition is open to all ages and entry is free.
