Taiwan Farm Dinner
benefitting Catskills Agrarian Alliance and Star Route Farm

and come together to celebrate the intersection of Taiwanese culinary tradition and locally grown produce — exploring how we eat, near and far, and what that reveals about climate change awareness and agency. The night will benefit the and , an agricultural nonprofit working with local farmers across upstate New York to increase food access and build a healthier, more just food system.
Chef Trigg Brown of Win Son will present a coursed meal with spring produce sourced from Star Route Farm, located in the western Catskills and affiliated with CAA, alongside preserves, grains, and ferments from Taiwanese farmer-artisans, provided by Yun Hai. Together, these ingredients become a lens into how food moves around the world — and what local, global, and migratory food systems have to do with the climate crisis.
The evening will be punctuated by a roundtable discussion moderated by Dana Cowin of Progressive Hedonist, an event series committed to building resilience while sharing climate friendly practices through food and joy. Joining us for that will be Amanda Wong, head farmer at Star Route Farm, and Kimberly Chou, co-founder of .
Tickets and Menu
Each ticket will include a coursed dinner featuring produce from Star Route Farm, Taiwanese artisinal ingredients from Yun Hai, and paired beverages. Seating is limited at this 50-seat event.
Tickets are $175, plus fees. Take advantage of our early bird pricing on a limited number of tickets through April 28th.
If you'd like to host a farmer or CAA community member, you may buy a ticket and we'll invite one of the farmers or contributors from the Catskills Agrarian Alliance's network.

The ticket costs cover the cost of production, and we can increase the impact of this fundraiser with an additional donation from you. Please consider purchasing raffle tickets, which will greatly increase the funding we can bring to the CAA at the end of this event.

Win Son
Win son restaurant is a full-service restaurant featuring taiwanese-american cuisine in East Williamsburg. Founded in 2016 by Josh Ku and Trigg Brown, it's since expanded to two bakeries in addition to it's original restaurant on the corner of Grand and Montrose. Josh and Trigg serve bold and lively dishes drawing on Taiwanese culture and New York City. TK
Progressive Hedonist
Dana Cowin is an award-winning editor, author and convener who propels change through food and joy.
Founder of Progressive Hedonist, Cowin has launched a national event series to build resilience, support local food, reduce food waste and deepen commitments to healing the planet through joyful gatherings. Since 2024, she's hosted dozens of events in 15 states, as well as produced a podcast that was a finalist for a James Beard Foundation award.
This movement builds on Cowin’s experience creating Speaking Broadly, which featured events, a zine and podcast spotlighting visionary women at the intersection of creativity, sustainability and food.
Cowin was Editor in Chief of Food & Wine Magazine for more than 20 years, leading all editorial aspects of the brand including print, digital and books. She has written extensively on food and culture, including a cookbook, "Mastering My Mistakes in the Kitchen: Learning to Cook with 65 Great Chefs and 100 Recipes." Cowin has been a judge on Top Chef and Beat Bobby Flay as well as a speaker at SXSW, the Welcome Conference, TEDx Manhattan, and many other events.
Yun Hai
Yun Hai 雲海, founded by Lisa Cheng Smith in 2018, offers a selection of premium ingredients for Taiwanese and Chinese cooking. They source directly from artisans, farms, and soy sauce breweries in Taiwan. Terrain, technique, history, and humanity come together in the traditional foods they distribute.
