One afternoon of every month, the Perkins Public Library is joined by Oakley, a golden retriever, who is certified with the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. Independent readers can sign up for one, 10-minute session, to read to this wonderful dog. This is a great opportunity to read aloud in a comfortable environment, to a nonjudgmental, patient listener. This can give readers the encouragement they need to improve their reading skills, and can help improve comprehension and confidence!This event has designated 10-minute reading time slots that must be reserved in advance.
