About this Event

Ba Curating at Goldsmiths third-year students are pleased to present this workshop in conjunction with their final show, Re-alignments: New Grammars of Folklore, Stories, and Myths.

How can encounters with textiles activate memories and generate stories?

Tailoring Stories is a creative writing workshop inspired by ‘On the Melancholy of the Tailors,’ a textile art panel designed by artist Susie Vickery. The piece by Vickery tells a story, and is a testament to the many ways stories are generated and told through various encounters with objects.

Drawing inspiration from Vickery, we invite you to express your dearest thoughts through a creative written piece that draws from your experience with a selected archival object from the Goldsmiths Textile Collection.

After the workshop, from 6-8pm, Constance Howard Gallery will be hosting a private viewing of their upcoming exhibition, Careborn by Sophie-Nicole Dodds. You are all welcome to come and join!
