And now for something different…A TAGteach Workshop Retreat
Join TAGteach cofounder, Theresa McKeon for a cozy (10 person max) workshop designed to build your skills with TAGteach tools.
This workshop has been created specifically for those who may have learned TAGteach via a virtual/online setting and want some “hands on” time or for those who would simply savor the opportunity to experiment, collaborate and brainstorm with TAGteach tools in a live, supportive environment.
Speaking of environment, the workshop site will be spread between two working farms within an hour of Charlotte, North Carolina. All are welcome and for those who teach people to train animals, or ride horses, you will have access to a 100x200ft equestrian arena, 2 large round pens, 6 horses, 1 pony, 1 mini-horse, 2 donkeys, 3 dogs, multiple cats, chickens, and even a potbellied pig to aid your practice or just get your cuddly animal fix. During your down time, walk or use the 4x4’s to ride through 200 acres of fields and wooded trails. Don’t be surprised to come across deer, turkey, fox and other wildlife.
The workshop has a participant-driven agenda including practicing with the newest TAGteach tools and will be individually modified as desired. Attendees will be encouraged to apply the tools in a manner that benefits their unique style and population of learners.
Including but not limited to:
Introducing (or not introducing) TAGteach tools to clients- we’ll help you create and practice the perfect explanation.
Introducing TAGteach to your staff – How do I get everyone onboard?
How do I ask others to use TAGteach principles with me?
Using fewer words to create more success – Let us help you become comfortable with using fewer words and even moments of silence.
Using Short Phrase Coaching – The newest TAGteach tool that has become the “go to” tool for many teachers. No tag required!
Using Peer Tagging - practice peer tagging configurations to build learner focus and create super productive classrooms environments.
Creating tag points and Focus Funnels – Do you have a “library” of tag points in your pocket? This is the place to break skills down and work through any sticking points for your curriculum/students.
Experiment with the unexpected power of looking away from your learner.
Choose your days! We have 3 full days available, and you may register for 1, 2, or all 3 as open spots allow. Although the workshop hours are 9:30-4:30, take the opportunity before and after to participate in “farm chores” with the animals, take a 4x4 ride through the properties, or just walk about enjoying nature. If you want to do a bit of sightseeing on your trip, there are multiple national parks and other worthy locations within and 1 of our location.
Important Note: This retreat has a singular goal of providing a safe setting to discuss and practice TAGteach tools. The word “retreat” (a place to escape danger) was intentional in the title. If you are triggered or offended by any particular teaching or training strategy, or don’t like being exposed to a spectrum of reinforcement, we understand, but please pass on this event.
