Discover the art of still life photography in this immersive workshop at National Camera Exchange! Led by NCE educator and professional photographer Becky Clark-Dullinger, this hands-on session will help you refine your skills as you explore new creative possibilities. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to elevate your technique, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of composition, lighting, and visual storytelling.We’ll begin with an introduction to the key elements of still life photography, followed by a live demonstration of lighting, composition, and scene styling. After the demo, it’ll be your turn to create! You’ll rotate through multiple shooting stations, including a pre-designed setup to practice lighting and composition, as well as additional stations where you can experiment with different objects and backdrops. Personalized guidance will be available throughout the workshop to help you bring your creative vision to life.

BE PREPARED:
This event will be held in our classroom on the second floor of the building, which is accessible by stairs or elevator. Please arrive a few minutes early so we can check everyone in and begin the class on time.
WHAT TO BRING:
• Camera: DSLR, mirrorless, or film cameras are welcome.
• Lenses: Focal lengths between 50mm and 100mm are ideal, though there’s flexibility depending on your creative approach.
• Memory Cards & Batteries: Please bring extra memory cards and fully charged batteries.
• Tripod (optional): A tripod can provide added stability, assist with precise framing, and allow you to adjust objects in your scene without needing to recompose.
WHAT WE'LL PROVIDE:
• LED lighting equipment, reflectors, and a limited number of tripods will be available for use during the workshop, so you can focus on learning and experimenting without needing additional gear.
• You’ll also have access to a curated collection of objects and backdrops designed specifically for tabletop still life photography, giving you the opportunity to explore different textures, colors, and styling approaches throughout the hands-on portion of the class.
• Each attendee will receive a full-color, spiral-bound workshop guide filled with key techniques, creative exercises, and expert tips to continue refining your skills long after the workshop ends.
