TABLE SONGS 2026! SAVE THE DATES November 13-14!Inspired by “Supra”, the Georgian tradition of gathering around a feast table and participating in folk song, music, and dance, the Table Songs Festival showcases different ways of celebrating life.
FEATURING
Georgian polyphony with Ori Shalva (Toronto), led by virtuoso traditional singer and multi-instrumentalist Shalva Makharashvili, is Canada’s foremost Georgian polyphonic vocal ensemble, performing one of the world’s oldest and most complex vocal traditions.
Rhythm and Roots Georgian Ensemble, a sub-set of the Rhythm & Roots Choir, presenting Georgian songs with passion for rhythm and rootedness in their musical exploration, and led by Vancouver-based choir director Karla Mundy.
English/Canadian folksong with Princeton Porch Party, Jon Bartlett, and Rika Ruebsaat leading an ensemble of singers and musicians from across the pacific northwest to showcase English sea shanties, pub songs, and other traditional genres.
Hungarian & Transylvanian village song & dance with Forrás Banda (Vancouver/Seattle), sharing folk music from Hungary and Transylvania played on violins, violas, double-bass and cimbalom. Guest dancers and singers joined Forrás Banda in traditional “Asztali Nóták” (table songs).
