Chef Sultana will teach delicious, authentic Syrian dishes followed by a sit-down meal.
About this Event

Your class will be led by our wonderful Chef Sultana from Syria at in Bristol.

Chef Sultana from Syria will guide you through how to prepare her menu from scratch while sharing stories, secrets and inspiration about traditional Syrian food and culture.

Sultana’s menu features some of the most distinguishable flavours of the Levantine cuisine including sumac, pomegranate and Aleppo chilli. You’ll learn the traditional method of pressing bulgar wheat to make Kibbeh as well as how to shape the perfect Shishbarak (dumplings), a family favourite across the Middle East especially in Syria, Lebanon and Jordan.

You’ll cook in groups with your fellow class participants before sitting down together with your chef to enjoy a delicious meal together. After the class, you’ll be emailed the recipes you learned how to prepare, so you can bring a taste of Syria to your own table.

A message from our Chef Sultana:

"I am Sultana. I like cooking because when I was a child I saw all my family enjoy cooking together. I had a big family so there was more reason to cook a lot; all my sisters, my aunts and my grandmother would sit and help each other cooking. I had a nice time speaking and hearing many stories. Making food and trying new recipes is a great way to spend time with the family, forget our jobs and hard times and keep the family warm."
