The MSO will hold the Symphonic Journey weekend workshop, a yearly favourite for young musicians and community players from South Auckland.
Members will include players from the Howick School of Music, the Tironui Trust and anybody who loves playing in an orchestra. We welcome back conductor Tom Chester, who won the hearts of the orchestra and audiences in 2022.
Join us for a captivating musical journey as we present two remarkable compositions. McLeod’s ‘At the Bay’ from ‘Three Celebrations for Orchestra’ will transport you to the scenic beauty of New Zealand, while Beethoven’s powerful Symphony No 5 will sweep you off your feet with its iconic and electrifying melodies from the first and last movement. A great program for young and old to immerse yourself in inspiring symphonic music.
A FREE informal playthrough concert for whānau, friends and public for the workshop repertoire: Sunday at 4pm in the Te Tuhi Auditorium, Pakuranga.
