Enjoy a showcase of artwork by Champaign Unit 4 School District students, created with artist Bernard Williams.
Join us in celebrating the creative collaboration between students of Stratton Academy of the Arts, Garden Hills Academy, Booker T. Washington STEM Academy, and Franklin STEAM Academy in Champaign and artist Bernard Williams. This vibrant exhibition showcases a lively collection of creative works—bold, imaginative, and rooted in playful exploration of symbols, meaning, and collaborative narratives.
Bernard Williams, a Champaign–Urbana native, earned his BFA from University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign and his MFA from Northwestern University. His interdisciplinary practice spans painting, sculpture, and installation, through which he examines identity, cultural history, and the interplay between mechanical systems and personal narratives.
Following the showcase in Krannert Art Museum's Contemporary Gallery, join us for a lecture by Bernard Williams in the Auditorium (KAM 62) on the museum's lower level at 5:30 pm.
This project is supported by the George A. Miller Visiting Scholar Program and the School of Art & Design Visitor Series Committee. Krannert Art Museum acknowledges support from the Illinois Arts Council.
