Sylamore Special is a young, high-energy bluegrass band that formed in 2021 after competing together in the KSMU National Youth in Bluegrass Contest, this dynamic five-piece group of lifelong friends has since captivated audiences across the country. From performing at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival to clinching the 2024 SPBGMA International Band Championship, they blend bluegrass with gospel, Americana, and their unique take on rock and country classics, alongside heartfelt originals that resonate deeply.
