In 2025, Taiwan made history on Oxford Street. For the first time, the Taiwanese community marched with its own float at the Sydney Mardi Gras, one of the world’s most visible LGBTQIA+ celebrations. That night, Taiwan stood proud, visible, and free.In 2026, Taiwan Pride Sydney returns with a new vision: Lanterns of Ecstatica: Taiwan Lighting Up Asia. Our lantern float celebrates queer Taiwanese identity, culture, and resilience. Each lantern represents a story, a voice, and the freedom to be seen. By joining the 2026 Mardi Gras team, you become part of a collective moment of visibility and joy, helping Taiwan shine boldly on the world stage once again.Participation strictly limited.
