Join us for a high-energy weekend of dance inspired by the hit show SW!NG OUT, beginning with a group road trip to see the performance in Worcester MA (Mar 19), followed by classes taught by members of the cast in Boston MA (Mar 21-22), and capped off with a social dance party featuring live music by the KS Swingtet! The workshops taught by Nathan Bugh and Gaby Cook will explore the themes that shine in the show and fuel its dancers, bringing the spirit of the performance to our community.
We encourage everyone to attend the show at The Prior Performing Arts Center by grabbing a ticket directly from their site. Lindy Hopcats will be sending out a rideshare form to those who are interested (see ticketing link).

INSTRUCTOR BIO's
*Nathan Bugh* (he/him) is one of the world's leading exponents of Lindy Hop and vernacular jazz dance. He has performed on stages all over the world and his 10-year collaboration with Caleb Teicher has highlighted Lindy Hop in new concert spaces and changed the face of jazz-dance performance. He is both a performer and braintrust collaborator in the acclaimed SW!NG OUT show, which has inspired our upcoming workshop. An active swing-dance competitor since the late 1990’s, Nathan holds numerous first-place titles in Solo Jazz, Lindy Hop, Team, Invitational, Slow Dance, Showcase, and Mix/Match divisions at events like the International Lindy Hop Championships. Nathan is a veteran dance instructor, with 20+ years experience teaching students of all ages. We are so excited that he is coming to teach us in Boston!

*Gaby Cook* (she/her) is an esteemed, active professional in the global Lindy Hop community. For 20 years, she has established her career performing and teaching for major swing dance festivals worldwide. On stage, she is a principal dancer for the acclaimed SW!NG OUT show and tours regularly. Gaby works as choreographer, lindy hop advocate, and is “on-call” with prestigious university-level programs. At home, Gaby is one of Lindy Hop’s most influential community organizers. She curates and teaches in two weekly educational programs: Swing at the 92NY (with co-producer Nathan Bugh) and Midtown Swings (with co-producer AJ Howard). In class, she is playful, informative and honest, building a culture of inclusivity, respect and joy. She prioritizes equality for followers and leaders in the classroom space — and has championed a movement first approach to teaching partnered dance content. We are so excited to learn from Gaby!

MASKING: Hopcats events are mask optional. Free masks will be provided to any individual who is in need.
SCENT POLICY: Please avoid wearing strong scents to our events as some may have allergic reactions to these. We realize it is difficult to eliminate scented products, but please limit the amount of added perfume or cologne you use!
