Date: 28th Feb 2026Summary of event: The event has been running since 2001, one of the oldest open-water events in South-Africa. The event is held at the Sterkfontein Dam out side Harrismith the cleanest water in the country. Hosted by Swim4life a family run organisation helping and working together with local community to make the event a success for the last 25 years.
Race events of the day:
3000m Open event, all ages compete together. Cost R330 pre entry R400 on the day .
Sterkfontein 1500, Age groups 13 and under boys and girls, 14 to 30 men and woman, 31 to 50 men and woman, 51 to 70 men and woman, and a new age group 71 and older men and woman. Cost R280 pre entry and R350 on the day.
