On the 5th July 2026, I will be swimming for the 1000th time. It will be the end of an epic challenge to raise money and awareness for Neuroendocrine Cancer.
A cancer that has stolen the dreams and futures for thousands of people around the UK, including my husband Dave, but a cancer you have probably never heard of.
Daily Dip 4 Dave began to change that - to make this hidden cancer visible.
Along the way Daily Dip 4 Dave has become a community of people who care - who see something that inspires them to support and join in, to donate and to share the message.
All driven by a simple decision to do something - a simple act of walking into the sea every day, no matter what has created a movement, has raised nearly £56k and has shone a light on a cruel and unrelenting cancer - for which there is no cure.
Will you join me in the last days of this challenge - will you see me over the finish line so I don't end this alone?
There are four ways you can join me:
1- Take on the #IAM1000 challenge
2 - Join in and swim on July 5th
3- Simply donate
4- Organise your own event
Stand beside me - take the hand of every person struggling to live with Neuroendocrine Cancer and walk with them as part of the #IAM1000 movement to show them they are not alone.
You can register for #IAM1000 here https://bit.ly/4uGbyu5
Let's make Day 1000 a day to remember.
