Sweet Mother requests the pleasure of your company for tea & crumpets as we raise money for our students who are in need of higher learning!

Join us for an elegant and enchanting Fundraising Victorian Tea with Sweet Mother. Funds raised at this event will go towards the university and college education for eight of our girls at the FAWE School in Sierra Leone who have made it to higher schools of learning despite the very difficult circumstances under which they have struggled to study. Also in collaboration with FAWE we have established a scholarship program for 25 talented girls from low-income families that hold the potential to transform lives, uplift communities and contribute to a more equitable society. By investing in education and nurturing talent, we can empower the next generation to overcome financial limitations and reach their full potential. We invite you to continue to partner with us in making this vision a reality and creating a brighter future for talented students from low-income families. You’re Our Unity was founded by community leader, advocate, and media host LeShawn Walker with a vision to cultivate compassion, unity, and empowerment across communities. Guided by the belief that love and service are the foundations of lasting change, the organization creates initiatives that give people—especially young women—the confidence, tools, and support they need to succeed.

Among the organization’s most cherished initiatives is the Annual Prom Dress Drive & Giveaway, a program designed to uplift young women at a pivotal moment in their lives. For many high school seniors, prom is more than a celebration—it is a symbol of achievement, transition, and hope for the future. Yet for families facing financial hardships, this milestone can feel out of reach. Through the Prom Dress Drive, You’re Our Unity provides dresses, shoes, and accessories, ensuring that no young woman is left behind. More than clothing, this program offers confidence, dignity, and the reminder that their community is standing beside them as they prepare to take their next step toward adulthood.

In addition, You’re Our Unity proudly offers the Sandra Cabrera “Dare to Be YOU” Scholarship, created in honor of a beloved community changemaker. This scholarship awards young women who demonstrate leadership, courage, and a dedication to education and service. By easing the financial burden of higher education, the scholarship empowers recipients to pursue their dreams boldly and to carry forward the legacy of resilience and authenticity that Sandra Cabrera embodied.

Through these programs and platforms, You’re Our Unity continues to uplift, affirm, and invest in the lives of young women. Under the leadership of LeShawn Walker, the organization serves as a beacon of hope and empowerment, reminding every young person that they are worthy, celebrated, and capable of greatness.

Sweet Mother will also honor posthumously Juliette Labeech Kirby who sadly passed on January 25th, 2026. Juliet was one of Sweet Mother's ardent supporter. Each year she attended both the Tea and Gala in September. She always nominate someone in her community deserving of Sweet Mother Award and above all she made sure she has one or two tables filled. We shall deeply missed her elegance, and her deep love for humanity. May her soul RIP.
